HAIR REMOVAL

Laser hair removal works by targeting the melanin in hair follicles with pulses of concentrated laser light, which heats and damages the follicles, effectively inhibiting future hair growth. This process is safe, effective, and virtually painless, providing long-lasting results with minimal discomfort. Unlike traditional hair removal methods such as shaving, waxing, or plucking, laser hair removal offers a permanent reduction in hair growth, saving both time and money in the long run. It can be used on various body areas, including the face, legs, underarms, and bikini line, and is suitable for a wide range of skin types and tones. Sessions are relatively quick, and with each treatment, the hair becomes finer and less noticeable. By choosing laser hair removal, you can say goodbye to the hassle of daily grooming routines and enjoy the lasting convenience and confidence that smooth, hair-free skin provides.

TATTOO REMOVAL

Through a series of laser sessions, tattoos can be gradually faded and, in many cases, removed, although results vary depending on factors like size, color, location, skin type, and the individual’s overall health. The laser emits concentrated energy that breaks down the tattoo ink into tiny particles, which the body’s immune system then absorbs and eliminates naturally over time. Larger or more complex tattoos may require multiple sessions for full removal, and colors like green or blue may be more resistant than black ink. It's essential to keep in mind that tattoos were designed to be permanent, so complete removal isn't guaranteed, and some traces of ink may remain. Many individuals opt to lighten their tattoos rather than fully remove them, making it easier to cover up with new designs. While laser tattoo removal is generally safe and effective, patience is key, as the process takes time and results improve with each session.

SKIN THERAPY

Carbon facials, pigmentation removal, skin rejuvenation, and treatments for broken capillaries or thread veins are popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures. Carbon facials use laser energy combined with a carbon mask to deeply cleanse pores, exfoliate, and stimulate collagen production, leaving the skin smoother and more radiant. For pigmentation issues, targeted laser treatments can break down excess melanin, helping to even skin tone. Similarly, lasers can address broken capillaries and thread veins by collapsing the blood vessels, which are naturally reabsorbed by the body. Multiple sessions may be needed for optimal results, depending on the severity of the condition being treated.

FAQS

FAQS

Still got questions? Find quick answers to your questions about our laser hair & tattoo removal and skincare services in our FAQs.

  • HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
The laser targets the pigment below the surface of the skin, so there needs to be something there to target. For at least a week leading up to your treatment, no waxing, tweezing or epilating/plucking. This will allow the hair to get into a growth cycle and the treatment will be more effective. You can shave the area, and you will need to shave 24 hours before your appointment. For the duration of your treatment, shaving should be the only form of hair removal.
  • DOES IT HURT?
No. I set up the machine, based on your skin type and start at low power until we find a level that is comfortable for you. A water-based gel is applied to the skin, and the handle than delivers the IPL is water-cooled, so there is no over-heating of the skin. Some areas are more sensitive than others, and the light can feel more intense, but it is not a painful procedure.
  • CAN I GO IN THE SUN BEFORE / AFTER MY TREATMENT?
It is best to avoid exposure to the sun for a minimum of 2 weeks on either side of your treatment. An ideal gap between sun exposure and treatment is 4 weeks. You can still have your treatment, but we will need to revisit your original skin-typing forms and adjust your treatment settings accordingly. If you have been in the sun, or plan to, then I recommend wearing SPF 50. I will not treat sunburnt skin.
  • HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The number of laser hair removal sessions needed varies depending on several factors, including your skin type, hair color, hair thickness, and the treatment area. Generally, multiple sessions are required to achieve optimal results because hair grows in different cycles, and laser treatment is most effective on actively growing hair. On average, most individuals require anywhere from 6 to 8 sessions spaced several weeks apart to achieve significant reduction in hair growth. It's important to note that laser hair removal does not always result in permanent removal, and you may require top-up sessions 1-2 times a year after your initial sessions to maintain the results.
  • AM I A SUITABLE CANDIDATE?
Before proceeding with any treatment, you will need to fill out 3 forms, one of which is a medical history form. Certain medications and conditions mean that IPL treatment is not a suitable option. In these cases, I recommend that you speak to your GP. They will provide me with a letter of approval if they feel that it is safe for you to have the treatment.
  • HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY TREATMENT?
Just make sure the area is clean and free from hair, with no sore areas/open wounds.
  • DOES IT HURT?
It feels like being flicked with an elastic band. Point blank. But if you can sit through getting a tattoo in the first place, then this will be no problem at all. I also use cold presses that are applied periodically throughout the treatment to stop the skin from getting too hot. Numbing cream can be used but will need to be applied 2 hours before your appointment.

  • HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
There are a lot of variables, like the colours of the ink, you’re overall health and how well you look after the treatment area. There is no blanket rule or average – each case is different.
